Agreement and eligibility
By using CommsOpen, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must provide accurate account information and protect access to your account. Creators who sell or receive payouts must be at least 18 or have the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where permitted.
Beta access
CommsOpen is currently an invite-only beta. Features may change, fail, or be unavailable while we test them. Nothing is published or offered for sale merely because it was imported or drafted; the creator chooses what to review and publish.
Creator content and licenses
Creators keep ownership of their work. You grant CommsOpen a limited license to host, display, resize, and deliver content only as needed to operate and promote your storefront and fulfill transactions you authorize. You must have the rights needed to upload, sell, license, or import everything you provide.
Creators may offer personal, studio, seat-based, commercial, or custom license terms. Those license terms form an agreement between the creator and buyer. CommsOpen provides tools and records to make terms clearer, but does not provide legal advice or guarantee that a license is enforceable in every jurisdiction.
For Blender tools, GPL-covered add-on code and separately copyrightable assets, services, cloud features, trademarks, documentation, or other components may have different terms. Creators are responsible for identifying those boundaries accurately and may not use CommsOpen terms to restrict rights a recipient receives under the GNU GPL.
Buying and commissioning
Buyers must select the license or service tier that truthfully matches their intended use, organization, and number of users. A personal license may not be used for studio or employer work when the creator offers a separate studio or commercial tier. Commission scope, revisions, deadlines, cancellation terms, and delivery requirements shown at checkout become part of the buyer-creator agreement.
Fees, payments, taxes, and disputes
CommsOpen currently plans a 2% platform fee on successful sales. Standard payment-processor fees, applicable taxes, currency conversion, refunds, and chargebacks are separate and will be shown as clearly as the checkout and payout provider allows. Final launch terms will be presented before payouts are enabled.
Creators are responsible for accurate product descriptions, fulfillment, and creator-specific refund terms. CommsOpen may hold, reverse, or restrict transactions when required by a payment provider, law, fraud review, chargeback, or dispute process.
Acceptable use
Do not use CommsOpen for fraud, impersonation, harassment, malware, illegal content, infringement, deceptive licensing, payment evasion, or attempts to access another person’s account or private information. We may remove content or restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law or provider rules, or investigate abuse.
Third-party services
Connected platforms, payment processors, and imported links remain governed by their own terms. You may disconnect supported accounts at any time. CommsOpen is not responsible for a third-party service changing, suspending, or ending its API or account access.
Availability and liability
The beta service is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted operation. To the extent permitted by law, Beyond Studios is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from beta use, third-party services, creator-buyer disputes, or unauthorized use of a creator’s work. Nothing here limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
Ending access and changes
You may stop using CommsOpen and request account deletion. We may suspend access for security, abuse, legal, or provider-compliance reasons. We will post material changes here and, when practical, notify affected users before they take effect.
